Brunch food is my favorite type of food, but it can be hard to get into a good brunch spot in this city, especially with a toddler. So when I find one that is both tasty and kid-friendly, I want to tell everyone about it!

Straw has a deliciously unique menu, and the staff are accommodating and friendly. I have gone multiple times and asked for high chairs or room for a stroller, and they always work out a table for me. My friends and I went with three kids once (ages 6 months, 2, and 4), and the manager helped us get seating right away.

The menu features “carnival-inspired comfort food.” Expect to find unique takes on things like chicken and waffles, eggs-in-the-hole, waffles, huevos rancheros, burgers, and breakfast sandwiches. They were recently featured on the Food Network for their Donut Breakfast Sandwich. Let me just tell you, it is hands down my favorite thing on the brunch menu. It’s sweet and salty goodness! You bite into the soft, warm donut and then get the savory breakfast flavors of eggs and bacon! I tell everyone that comes with me they have to try it.

If donut breakfast sandwiches aren’t your thing, then I suggest the Rocky Mountain Madame or the Huevos Rancheros.

They have a kids’ menu and can also make breakfast items a la carte. I usually get Atlas an egg and fries. They can also do the cornmeal waffle by itself for a child. Note: the breakfast potatoes are spicy, so I don’t suggest those for kids. They also have crayons and paper for kids to keep busy.

The place itself is bright and cheery, just like a carnival. It looks like they took old vintage pieces from carnivals and used them to decorate. The menus are colorful children’s books, and they even have one table that is a cart from a Tilt-A-Whirl ride! This would be awesome for a date night.

Because it is so good and it is small, the waits can get long. If you are going with kids or a large party, I suggest you go early before the crowds. I typically get there right when they open, and I haven’t had to wait more than ten minutes. If you do end up on the waitlist, there is a playground two blocks away that you can take the kids to while waiting.

Straw SF is located at 203 Octavia Blvd. Parking in the Hayes Valley neighborhood can be tricky on weekends, so if you can take public transport or add 15 minutes to your plans for parking.

El Brunch es mi comida favorita, pero puede ser difícil llegar a un buen lugar para almorzar en esta ciudad, especialmente con un niño pequeño, Entonces cuando encuentro uno que es sabrosos y apto para niños, quiero contárselo a todo el mundo.

Straw el restaurante tiene un menu deliciosamente único y el personal es atento y amable. He ido varias veces y he pedido una silla alta para niños o espacio para el coche y siempre me acomodan una mesa especialmente para mi. Mis amigas y yo fuimos con tres niños una vez (edades de 6 meses,2 y 4 ) y el gerente nos ayudo a sentarnos y acomodarnos inmediatamente.

El menu se trata de platos inspirados en las comidas que se sirven en los carnavales. Espera encontrar cosas única y diferentes como pollo y wafles, huevos en el hoyo, huevos rancheros, hamburguesas y sanduches para el desayuno. Recientemente fueron reconocidos en Food Network por el sanduche para el desayuno, en lugar de pan regular, ellos usan una donut.

Dejenme que les diga, es sin dudas alguna mi favorito de el menu del brunch. Es una delicia salada y dulce! muerdes una donut calientica y suave, y luego te saboreas lo saladito de los huevos y el tocino. Yo siempre les digo a los que vienen conmigo que tienen que tratar esto.

Si el desayuno de la donut no es lo tuyo entonces te sugiero el "Rocky Mountain Madame" o los Huevos Rancheros.

Tienen un menu infantil y tambien se puedes hacer a tu gusto el plato para el niño. Yo usualmente le pido a Atlas un huevo con papas fritas. Ellos también hacen el wafle de maíz solo para los niños. Las papas de desayuno son picantes así que no las sugiero para los niños.

Tienen crayones y papel para que los niños se mantengan ocupados.

El lugar es iluminado y alegre como un carnaval. Parece que tomaron piezas antiguas de carnavales y las usaron para decorar.

Los menus son coloridos libros para niños e incluso tienen una mesa que es un carrito de un paseo llamado Tilt-A- Whirl! Esta mesa esta increíble para una cita amorosa.

Debido a que es tan bueno y pequeño, la espera puede ser larga. Si vas con niño o con un grupo grande, te sugiero que vayas temprano antes de las multitudes. Normalmente llego justo cuando abren y no he tenido que esperar mas de 10 minutos. Si terminas en una lista de espera, hay un patio de recreo a dos cuadras de distancia al que puedes llevar a los niños mientras esperas.

Straw SF esta ubicado en 203 Octavia Blvd. El estacionamento en el vecindario de Hayes Valley puede ser complicado los fines de semana, por lo tanto, si puedes tomar el transporte publico o agregar 15 minutos al tiempo que gastaras estacionando.
