There are Victorian and Edwardian homes all over San Francisco. The most well known are a row of seven that are on Steiner Street at Alamo Square. They are called the Painted Ladies, also known as Postcard Row. These colorful Victorian houses, with fantastic views of the city behind them, are most known for their appearance in the TV show, Full House. But none of this is going to matter to your 2-year-old so how do you entertain a toddler if you want to go take pictures of the painted ladies?

Las casas victorianas coloridas (Painted Ladies) tienen una vista fantástica de la ciudad, por detrás de ellas,estas casas son mas conocidas por su aparición en el program de televisión FullHouse. Pero nadada de esto le va a interesar a un niño de 2 años. Como entretenerlo entonces si quieres ir a tomar fotos de estas casas?

There are a few things at Alamo Square Park across from the painted ladies that will keep them entertained. The first one is the playground. It's tucked away in the middle of the park but it's a decent little playground. It has swings and slides and the usual playground equipment. Your kiddos can play here for a while before or after you snap your photo with the ladies.

The other form of toddler entertainment, which Atlas prefers, is running down all the steep hills in the park.

Por suerte hay algunas cosas en Alamo Square Park frente a las" Casas Pintadas," que los mantendrá entretenidos. Lo prime es una zona de juegos, esta como escondida en la mitad del parque, es pequeña pero satisfactoria, los pequeños pueden jugar allí por un rato antes o después de que toma las fotos de las "Casas Pintadas."

Otra forma de entretenimiento para los niños la cual es la preferida de Atlas,es correr por todas las pendientes y las escaleras en el parque.

The reason there is such a great view at Alamo Square is that it's on a steep hill in the middle of the city. So naturally, there are a lot of stairs and slopes in this park. Atlas ran down every single one and I had to carry him back up every one of them. Running downhill is super fun for him but back up is a lot of work for me! However, it kept him entertained and I was able to get photos in front of the houses and tire him out at the same time. So it was worth it.

I didn't bring a stroller this time but if you plan on bringing one try to find street parking near the accessible entrance on Steiner Street and Hayes Street. The painted ladies are on Steiner Street so you will be close to them and you can avoid some uphill walking.

La razón por la cual es una vista maravillosa en el Alamo Square es porque esta en una colina empinada en el medio de la cuadra,así que naturalmente hay un montón de escaleras y pendientes en este parque.

Atlas corre por todas y cada una de ellas, hacia abajo y yo tengo que cargarlo para volver a subir. Correr cuesta abajo es muy divertido para el, pero cargarlo cuesta arriba es mucho esfuerzo para mi.!! lo mantuve entretenido y me fue posible tomar las fotos de las "Casas Pintadas" y cansarlo al mismo tiempo.

No traje coche esta vez, pero si tienes pensado traer uno,trata de encontrar parqueadero cerca de un entrada accesible e las calles Steiner y Hayes. Las "Casas Pintadas" están ubicadas e la calle Steiner Street. así estarás cerca a ellas y pueden evitar una caminada cuesta arriba.

Another cool thing at Alamo Square park is a coffee truck for Lady Falcon Coffee. They usually park right in the middle of the park and serve tasty coffee and baked goods out of their vintage coffee truck.

Otra cosa buena en el parque Alamo Square es que va el camion de cafe de Lady Falcon Coffe. Por lo general están estacionados justo en la mitad del parque y sirven un cafe muy sabrosos y productos horneados desde su camion de cafe estilo Vintage.

This is a pretty popular tourist destination so if you plan to have a picnic in front of the ladies just be warned there will be a lot of people trying to take photos.

It's a great place to visit and definitely fun for kids.

Este es un destino turístico muy lindo y popular, si están planeando tener un día de campo en el frente de las "Casas Pintadas" les advierto que ahora mucha gente tratando de tomar fotos. Es un gran lugar para visitar y definitivamente divertido para los niños.
