The Mission District is home to the largest number of murals in San Francisco. Hundreds of walls, doors, and fences are painted by artists to show cultural, political and artistic points of view. It's is most definitely the most colorful part of the city.

There are several alleys dedicated to showcasing artists and their points of view. One of those is Clarion Alley. It is located between 17th Street and 18th Street with entrances on Mission Street and Valencia Street.

So, the big question I get is, can you take kids there? The answer is yes! Atlas loves to look at all the colors and run up and down the alley. If your kid is anything like mine he or she will want to touch all the walls, so bring hand sanitizer and wipes!

Once you are done looking at all the art you can head to other places in the neighborhood that are kid friendly.  I suggest heading over to Dandelion Chocolate where you can drink hot or cold chocolate and the kids can watch chocolate being made! (Detailed blog post on this coming soon)

If you are looking to hang out all afternoon in this area try coffee and pastries from Craftsman and Wolves, lunch at Media Noche and shopping at Aldea Home and Baby. There is also a playground on Valencia between 19th and 20th.

If you are interested in a guided tour of Clarion Alley or other street art locations check out this website http://www.precitaeyes.org/tours.html

Have fun!

Entonces, me pregunto, Puedes llevar niños allí?
