Rincon Green Playground
Part of raising a child in a city environment is finding playgrounds for them to play in. Although I love to plan other types of activities throughout the week, we inevitably find ourselves at a playground at least one day a week.
Luckily there is a cute and clean little playground two blocks from our house. The playground at Rincon Green.
At first glance this small patch of green between high rises looks like it is a private park for the Rincon Green apartments. But if you look closely at the sign on the gate you will see it is open to the public.
The playground is small and it doesn't have a swing but it's safe and clean and gets the job done.
The floor is rubber, there is a slide and the walls and planters are painted with a mat paint so most of the older kids use these surfaces to draw with their sidewalk chalk.
There are two benches for moms to sit on and a patch of AstroTurf that people use for picnics.
The only time I have seen this playground get crowded is at 4:30 during weekdays. Otherwise there are usually one or two kids.
If you live in the area or are visiting someone near SOMA it's worth checking out.
