Book Shopping and Story Time at Black Bird Bookstore

We found a true gem in the outer sunset neighborhood. Black Bird Bookstore is a bright and cozy community bookstore with an awesome section for kids.
It is obvious that the owner has kids and put a lot of thought into this space. Although it is small, it feels bright and inviting. There is a couch for lounging and a tree fort for kids to play and read in. There is also a kids activity table near the back. The books are beautifully positioned on the wooden shelves and look like art.
As you can see in the photos there are books positioned low enough for kids to look at and grab. I like that the covers are displayed so that kids can pick what interests them. Atlas picked out a "Dino Dance" book for himself and after that, he played in the tree fort.
On Saturdays at 9:30 am, they have FREE story time for kids. All ages are welcomed. I haven't taken Atlas to this yet but I plan on doing it soon. Since they are next door to Trouble Coffee I'll get there a bit early, grab a coffee and take him to story time.
They also have a thoughtfully curated section of books for adults. You don't have to have kids to shop here.

Encontramos una verdadera joya en el barrio llamado Outer Sunset. Black Bird Bookstore es una librería comunitaria iluminada y acogedora con una impresionante sección para niños.
Es obvio que el propietario tiene hijos y le puso mucho interes a este espacio pensando en los niños . Aunque es pequeño, es muy iluminado y atractivo. Hay un sofá para descansar y una fortaleza de árboles para que los niños jueguen y lean. Los libros están bellamente ubicados en los estantes de madera y parecen una obra de arte.
Hay libros colocados lo suficientemente bajos como para que ellos los puedan mirar y agarrarlos. Me gusta que se vean las portadas para que los niños puedan elegir lo que les interesa. A Atlas le encanto la fortaleza de árboles y eligió un libro de "la danza del dinosaurio". un libro solo para el.
Los sábados tienen una actividad de historias para niños de todas las edades y son gratis. Todos son bienvenidos. No he llevado a Atlas a esto todavía, pero planeo hacerlo pronto.
Ya que están al lado de la cafeteria llamada" trouble coffee " llegaré un poco temprano, tomaré un café y lo llevaré a la hora de las historias.
También tienen una sección de libros cuidadosamente escogida para adultos. No necesitas tener hijos para comprar aquí.
