Aug 8 Croissant Dates at Le Marais Bakery

We found the cutest little bakery the other day in the Castro neighborhood. The charming baby blue exterior, big windows and black and white details at Le Marais immediately caught my attention. Once we were inside we were convinced to stay by the dreamy lighting and the taste of the coffee and croissants.

Le Marais Bakery is charming and elegant. I have never been to Paris but this patisserie seems to have that effortless, relaxed elegance that I think of when I think of French cafes. The best part is the food is great too! It's one of my new favorite places to go for a weekday coffee date with Atlas.

We usually share an almond croissant while I drink a latte. Before anyone freaks out, I don't let him eat the whole thing, he only takes a few bites. But those few bites keep him as happy as a clam while I peacefully finish my coffee.

The almond croissant is flaky, sweet and delicious. They also serve an assortment of tarts, cookies, macaroons and savory baked goods. They have seasonal tarts which I am dying to try. The coffee they serve is Sight Glass coffee.

I love coming here on weekday mornings because it's not very crowded and Atlas and I can enjoy our coffee and croissants at one of the outside tables. I am assuming that it is more crowded on weekends because they have a weekend brunch.

Getting into the cafe with a stroller is easy if you go through the side door and there is seating inside or out. I find it better to sit outside with Atlas because he has more things to look at and I don’t have to keep him from running outside all the time.

If you haven't stopped by this sweet little bakery you should definitely add it to your list. It is located at 498 Sanchez Street near Dolores Park. Be sure to take a photo with their Bonjour sign at the entrance. It is perfect for Instagram.
